清水翔太：アルバム＋ライブ

Within a year and half after his previous album, 21-year-old R&B star SHIMIZU SHOTA is set to release his 2nd album this week. "Journey" features 4 singles, including the hit collaboration with KATO MILIYAH, and totals 12 tracks. As reads the title, in this album he sings about the journey that is his life, and also expresses his views on music. I particularly like the song "SAKURA" because it sounds to me like a different SHIMIZU SHOTA, more mature almost. Do give it a listen on the MUSIC PLAYER. You can also listen to "FOREVER LOVE".

倉木麻衣のニューシングルは昨年リリースされたベストアルバム以来の初作品となります。この両A面シングル「永遠より ながく／Drive me crazy」のひとつはとても明るいメローディーのウェディングソング、もうひとつはのりのりのR&Bヒットです。その一曲目は本人出演のKOSE ESPRIQUE PRECIOUSのCMで使われていました。ぼくからしてはちょっとつまらない歌だと思います。何かが物足りなくて、微妙です。皆さん、どうですか。発売は今週の水曜日です。

KURAKI MAI's new single is the first since last year's hit best collection album. This double A-side single "EIEN YORI NAGAKU/Drive me crazy" includes a wedding song with a really bright melody and also a classic R&B tune. The first one has been used in a TV commercial, starring KURAKI MAI herself, for KOSE ESPRIQUE PRECIOUS. For me, the song is a little boring. I just think that there is something missing and that it's generally quite plain. What do you think? The single is released this Wednesday, check it out.

嵐：シングル

昨年の末に発売となったパワーポップサウンドに続き、今年初のシングル「Troublemaker」はまたとても嵐らしいポップソングです。メンバー櫻井翔出演のTBS系テレビドラマ「特上カバチ!!」の主題歌となっている、すごく元気の出るナンバーです。PVもなかなか面白くし上がっていると思うので、是非チェック！CDの初回限定盤はPVが収録されているDVD付きです。カップリングされているB面曲は日本テレビ系のオリンピック番組のテーマソングとして使われてきました。バンクーバー２０１０の閉会式は昨日行われました。これもまた、聴いた人が頑張りたくなるようなメロディーで、いい曲です。

Following on from their powerpop-influenced song from last year, ARASHI's new single "Troublemaker" is another typical pop tune. It's a very energetic song, and it's tied up with the TBS drama series "TOKUJOU KABACHI" which stars one of the members SAKURAI SHO. The MUSIC VIDEO is pretty cool too and probably worth checking out. A DVD featuring the PV comes with the limited edition CD. The B-side song is also an up-tempo one, used as the theme song for the Olympic coverage of Vancouver 2010, which of course came to a close yesterday. I think this song really motivates you and certainly cheers you up.

Having debuted in 1996, somewhat of a veteran group Every Little Thing's brand new single comes out this week. Limited to just 10000 copies, "Change" is a really powerful tune which will uplift all who listen. This single also comes with a DVD containing the music video. The song is currently tied up with the TV advert for AEON. Since numbers are finite, be quick to check it out!
Also, their super hit best collection album from last December "Every Best Single ~COMPLETE~" was snapped up very fast indeed in shops, and many found themselves out of stock. Due to popular demand, it has been decided that the Encore Edition will be released on March 3rd. It comes with a massive 4 CD discs and 2 DVDs on top of that, where all their singles and fans' favourites are recorded. It is not to be missed!
One final update - the duo are set to release a new original album on March 24th as well! The title and content are yet to be confirmed, but stay tuned.

Female R&B artist NISHINO KANA, who will be celebrating her 21st birthday next month, releases her first 2010 single this week. After a successful year in 2009, with a bestselling album and multiple hit singles, her next single is a spring song, directed towards graduation and beginnings. This is also the second tie up to DOCOMO's "GANBARE JUKENSEI" campaign, following a previous song "Dear...".

Living as both an artist and a university student, NISHINO KANA has written the lyrics herself, centering around the appreciation of her friends' support over the years. It sounds like a bright, easy-listening pop song. The limited edition CD will also come with a special cover jacket and also an original photo seal enclosure. You can purchase this CD from Wednesday, and of course it is up on the MUSIC PLAYER to listen to as well!

２月１７日に、マルチリンガルR&BアーティストMay J.のニューアルバムが発売されました。遅れちゃってごめんなさい。彼女は日本で生まれ育ったが、イラン、トルコ、ロシア、スペインとイギリスのバックグラウンドも持つ、たくさんの文化を味わってきて様々な経験によって音楽を作り上げてきてます。そんなMay J.の今回のアルバム「for you」にはテレビドラマの主題歌に起用された「君がいた」の他、MAY'S、DJ KAORI、Diggy-MO'やDAISHI DANCEなどとのコラボ作も含む、全１４曲収録。「ハッピーと元気を届けたい！」というテーマに沿って制作されたものだそうです。CD＋DVDのDVDにはミュージックビデオやスペシャルムービーが６つ収録されています。

On February 17th, multilingual R&B artist May J. released her 3rd album. Apologies for the update delay. She was born and raised in Japan, but with backgrounds in Iran, Turkey, Russia, Spain and the UK, she has been exposed to many cultures and experiences, which she has used fully in her music. This new album "for you" includes the TV series tie-up single "KIMI GA ITA" as well as collaborations with the likes of MAY'S, DJ KAORI, Diggy-MO', DAISHI DANCE among others. Recording a total of 14 tracks, the album has been produced along the theme of 'happiness and energy'. The CD+DVD pack includes music videos and special movies, 6 in total.
Plus, in May, May J. has her very first national tour "May J. Tour 2010 〜LIVE for you〜" which she will perform in the five cities of Sendai, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka. One of Japan's greatest rap artists SEAMO will be releasing his first single of the year, following his best hit album of last year. On February 17th, the new double A-side single "OWARI TO HAJIMARI / Lost Boy" goes out on sale. "OWARI TO HAJIMARI" is a graduation song which tells about meeting and separating. "Lost Boy" is a more influenced by rock and it's been tied up with TBS anime "KAIDAN NO RESTAURANT". There's also one more song included called "REI -ZERO-" which returns to his roots of hip hop and really shows off his rapping talent. The limited edition CD comes with a DVD with the music video for his previous collaboration with AYUSE KOZUE "KIMI WO WASURENAI" and the making-of footage too. On 3rd February, KODA KUMI released the combo product of a best collection album and her 8th original album. "BEST〜third universe〜 & 8th AL "UNIVERSE"" went straight to no1 in the Oricon daily charts. It has an amazing 30 tracks with 2 discs and each one is available in Chaku-Uta, the first time in history, which itself provoked a lot of discussion. And there's another surprise for fans as she announced during yesterday's release party that her cover version of "Love Is Over", which she performed at the event, would also be available to download. MONKEY MAJIK's Blaise Plant (Vocal & Guitar) has finally disclosed the release of his first solo album! "The Alphabet Project" differs from what the band does, as it has its own unique, rather up-tempo rhythms and melodies, characteristic of Blaise. And I love it.
The album "Painting Music" has 17 songs included, and they will exclusively go on sale for those attending the MONKEY MAJIK national tour. Copies have been limited to a mere 3000 and it will be first sold at Yokohama BLITZ on 12th February. 木村カエラ：アルバム＋ライブ

All-girl rock band SCANDAL, currently enjoying their big break, will release their 5th single tomorrow, as the stock arrives in stores today. "SHUNKAN SENTIMENTAL" is being used as the ending theme tune to hit TBS anime "FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST", and the limited edition CD contains the TV edit version of the song as well as a special cover jacket. The song has a very powerful rock melody and is a great upbeat tune. You can listen to it now on the MUSIC PLAYER!
The girls, who were nominated for Best New Artist in last year's JAPAN RECORD AWARDS, are now preparing for their national tour "SCANDAL 〜SHUNKAN SAKURA ZENSEN TOUR〜 2010 SPRING" which begins on 23rd March in Fukuoka. 清水翔太ｘ加藤ミリヤ：シングル

今週、加藤ミリヤと清水翔太のコラボレーション第２弾が発売されます。去年の５月に発売され大ヒットとなった「Love Forever」に続くシングル「FOREVER LOVE」は役割が入れ替わり、前は清水翔太が作詞・作曲され、今回は加藤ミリヤがその仕事にチャレンジしたということです。昨年の歌のメロディーを少し混ぜ込んだ、おもしろい仕上げになっていると思います。MUSIC PLAYERで聴いてみて下さい。

This week, KATO MILIYAH and SHIMIZU SHOTA's second collaboration is released. "FOREVER LOVE" follows on from last year's huge success "Love Forever", which was produced by SHIMIZU SHOTA. This time round, the roles have been switched and KATO MILIYAH has taken on the challenge to make the song. It incorporates some of the melody from their previous hit and I think it has worked really well. You can listen to it on the MUSIC PLAYER above.

Three days after their final performance in Sendai on the 14th March, MONKEY MAJIK's new single will be released on the 17th! CHEMISTRY : アルバム＋コラボ

１月２７日に、イメージを少し変えた新曲「Period」をリリースしたばかりのCHEMISTRYは、今年２０１０年で二人が出会った時から数えた１０周年となります。まずはこのロックの効いた人気アニメのオープニングテーマの新曲を出し、２月３日にはふたつのコラボレーション作品が発売されます。Fairlifeのニューアルバム「みちくさ日和」に「乱れ雪 feat.CHEMISTRY」が収録されています。着うたの先行配信はもうスタートしているので、是非ダウンロードして聴いてみてください。また、こちらで試聴可能です。そして、富田ラボのニューアルバムにも参加しています。「残像 feat.CHEMISTRY」という楽曲が収録されています。どちらも今週発売なので是非チェックして下さい。

CHEMISTRY, who released an image-changing new single "Period" on January 27th, celebrate their 10th anniversary this year since when they first met. They have opened 2010 with a rock-infused song also used in a popular TV anime, and on February 3rd two collaborative pieces are set to come out. Firstly, "MIDARE YUKI feat.CHEMISTRY" will be part of the new album from Fairlife, "MICHIKUSA BIYORI". You can listen to a preview for the song here, or alternatively you can already download the Chaku-Uta. They have also contributed to TOMITA LAB's forthcoming album with a song titled "ZANZOU feat.CHEMISTRY". Both works will be on sale this week so be on the look out and buy!
Finally, CHEMISTRY have their very own new album set for release on February 24th. It will be their 6th original album and it's called "regeneration". Not only does it include all the singles since "Life Goes On" which they each produced their own version of, but there will also be solo pieces included. As the title suggests, this album reveals an all new CHEMISTRY, which I am looking forward to hearing. The CD+DVD package contains music videos as well as interview clips too. 初アルバム：ヒルクライム

昨年メジャーデビューしたヒルクライムのふたりはものすごい迫力で音楽シーンに登場した。ヒップホップとラップを元にし、ピアノやストリングスの優しい美しい面もあわせた新たなサウンド。レコード大賞の新人賞にも選ばれ、最高な未来があると思う。
そんな彼らが今日ファーストアルバムをリリースします。「リサイタル」には今までの３つのシングルも勿論含む全１３曲収録された作品です。その中の、２００９年９月にリリースされた「春夏秋冬」のダウンロードをどうぞ。季節を感じた切ないラブソングです。是非アルバムもチェックするように。

Today, HILCRHYME release their first album「RECITAL」after debuting last year. They entered the music scene with a storm as they brought a new sound, combining hip hop and rap with the soft, beautiful sounds of piano and strings. Having also been nominated for Best New Artist at the Japan Record Awards, I think they have a very bright future.
This album contains all three of last year's singles, with a total of 13 tracks. You can now DOWNLOAD their September release「SHUNKASHUTO」which is an elegant love ballad. Definitely do check out the album! Enjoy.

In two days time, on the 13th, internationally famous techno/digital rock group POLYSICS' new best hit album「BESTOISU」will be out on sale. With 17 tracks recorded, it's a brilliant piece for both fans and for those who are yet to have experienced the POLYSICS sound. This year is the 13th year they have been active for. SEAMO今年第一弾シングル。

２月１７日に、SEAMOがニューシングルを出すことが決まりした。それもまた両A面シングルです。「終わりと始まり / Lost Boy」のふたつの曲はなかなか良い感じに対照のある組み合わせだと思います。ひとつは卒業をテーマに書き上げたもので、出会いと別れの複雑な気持ちを語る曲で、「Lost Boy」はTVアニメ「怪談レストラン」の主題歌でもあった、かなり印象強いロックナンバーです。去年の十月に発売されたベストアルバムに続き、これからもどんどん色々な方向へと新たな音楽を作って行くようです。
そんなシーモさんの一番最近のシングルから選んだ「My Answer」のダウンロードをどうぞ。

On February 17th, rap artist SEAMO will be releasing his new single, his first of 2010. And it's a double A-side. The two main songs of「OWARI TO HAJIMARI / Lost Boy」show a good contrast but fits together quite nicely. One is written along the theme of graduation, where he ventures the complex emotions involved in the meeting and separating. The latter, which was used as the theme tune for a TV anime, is a rock-influenced song with a lot of impact.
I think SEAMO will continue to experiment with and produce music in all directions and I thoroughly look forward to it. Today you can DOWNLOAD a song taken from his most recent single「MY ANSWER」. Enjoy.

This awesome cap just landed. NEW ERA JAPAN have released a new 59FIFTY called the MOUTON SHEEPSKIN. It's made of 100% leather upper with white fur on the inside to keep your head warm. It's even up to the edge of the brim so you know all the fashion-keen people can see it. I think it's brilliant especially for this cold season. It has good humour and I think it's pretty stylish. NEW ERA JAPAN

早くもMISONO次のカバー作。

２００９年は素晴らしい一年だったはず。misonoは様々なバラエティーに出て芸人ステータスを上げ、大晦日には紅白歌合戦へサプライズ出場で姉の倖田來未と「It's all Love!」を披露して年を閉めた。そして０９年の９月にリリースしたカバーアルバムがヒットし、今年は早速その「misonoカバALBUM2」のリリースも決定。１月２７日に発売されます。収録曲はまだ未定ですが、絶対おもしろい作品であると思います。是非買ってみてください。そしてさらに、２月２４日にニューシングルも出るらしいです。今年も音楽への活躍が大きくなりそうです。

For MISONO, 2009 was a great year as she upped her celebrity status by featuring in a lot of TV, and she finished the year on New Years Eve performing live as a surprise guest on KOUHAKU with her sister KODA KUMI. She released a hit cover album in September and, already, the second one is set for release on 27th January. The tracklist for「」is still unannounced but I'm sure it will be a engaging album. Also, her next single is also to come out this year on 24th February so stay tuned for that! It looks like 2010 is going to be just as successful.

まずはYUIさんのニューシングルです！１月２０日にリリースされる「GLORIA」は応援ソングとして書かれたとても力強く、背中を押すような歌です。将来のことを考えている高校生たちなどに響くこの曲はとてもソウルフルなナンバー。１０月に発売された両A面シングル「It's all too much/Never say die」に続くものです。
